Introduction and About Us

Pic from a few months after we started dating,
after a fabulous dinner  in downtown
Asheville at Table.
Thank you for visiting our wedding blog! Please follow it for up to date information about all things related to our wedding and beyond. Here is a little bit of information about who we are, and how our love story began. Namaste friends. :-)

About Keri
Apple-picking in Hendersonville.
One of our favorite fall activities.
Keri, the daughter of Brett Rogers and Tammy Goben is a native of Easley, South Carolina.   After high school, Keri attended college to study Nutrition at Georgia Southern University and Yoga via the Asheville Yoga Center. She completed both degree programs by May of 2010. After six years away at school, she relocated to Greenville and set ought to find a job.  After a couple of months of soul searching, she founded BAYA Wellness in August of 2010. BAYA Wellness, is a a company that assists individuals on their path towards health by incorporating yoga and a healthy lifestyle. Since she started her company, Keri has been blessed with many amazing opportunities to help individuals transform their lives and find balance. Keri is a full on yogini and nerd at heart. She spends her days practicing yoga, cooking healthy foods, creating handmade restorative yoga products like pillows and bolsters, reading non-fiction books, and soaking up sunshine whenever possible. Keri's family and friends are really important to her and she loves being involved in the community whenever possible.   In her spare time, Keri enjoys walking, hiking, and shaking her tail feathers on the dance floor. :-)

Our first Halloween together we
 dressed up as Dexter
and Rita from the hit show Dexter.

About Tanner
Tanner, the son of Bill Marino and Leslie Taylor is a native of Pontiac, Michigan. Tanner and his family lived nomadically during the younger years of his life and he grew up predominantly in Georgetown, South Carolina. Tanner found his way to Greenville in 2006 where he began working at Devereaux's as a pastry assistant. He devoted himself to learning the ways of the culinary world and worked his way up to being the Chef de Cuisine. He has been in the culinary field now for eight years with stints at Restaurant O and The Nose Dive both as a Sous Chef. Most recently Tanner joined the staff at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville as a Sous Chef in the banquet department. He has a love for pate and cured meats and hopes to one day study under Brian Polcyn who literally wrote the book on charcuterie.  He is an avid Denver Broncos fan and devout fan of all Michigan based teams. He enjoys cooking (duh), hiking, video games, movies, and music.

Our Story
Stellar is a great restaurant tucked away in the
heart of downtown Greenville.
Keri and Tanner met at a dinner party hosted by a mutual friend. Our friend, Jaimee Park, knew us both and thought we would be a perfect match. Jaimee told Tanner all about Keri before the dinner party and then invited her over without any inkling of Jaimee's intentions of playing match-maker. Keri arrived to the dinner party later that night when she got of work and immediately noticed Tanner when she walked in the door. She found herself seated right behind side him with a plate full of food and was so nervous to eat in front of him and all other guests, who were well beyond eating at this point. Tanner immediately struck up a conversation about yoga and its potential benefits to chef's, who are on there feet all day. Despite the fact that he knew absolutely nothing about yoga, he was determined to learn if it meant a chance to see her again. The night went on and they eventually parted ways due to Keri having a private yoga class the next morning. Keri left with a classy yet popular "you can find me on facebook", and Tanner did just that later that night. After some messaging back and forth and a number exchange a first date was arranged at Stellar Wine Bar. The date was a combination of great conversation, Tanner not knowing what to do with his hands while talking, Keri being beet red and cold food due to said great conversation. They started dating soon after and the rest as you would say is history.
